Plant of the Week
Brachyscome
-
A hardy, easy care, native perennial growing up to 40cm in height and 60 cm wide.
-
With colourful pink and mauve delicate daisy flowers for much of the year, it is improved by an occasional prune to maintain density and flowers.
-
Enjoys a full sun position but can tolerate some shade.
-
Prefers free-draining soil but cope well in a variety of soil types as they are shallow rooted, and quite drought tolerant.
-
Mass planted they make a beautiful long flowering ground cover. They also look beautiful draping over retaining walls, in rockeries, pots, hanging baskets and as borders.
-
They are a food source and resting spot for butterflies.
-
Although they are not very long lived, they can be propagated easily using several techniques including cuttings, layering and growing from seed.

The Secret Garden has plenty available for sale.
